PELLEVE SKIN TIGHTENING
Theory: Why Does Our Skin Age?
Collagen is a building block or foundation of the skin, which supports its structure. Over time collagen becomes depleted or damaged by the sun or other environmental factors. The result is visible signs of aging such as the appearance of thinner skin or loose skin. Deep radiofrequency, (Thermage, Pelleve, and Accent) or deep infrared heat (SkinTyte) energy heats the deep levels of the facial skin and stimulates production of collagen in response to the heat energy insult. It can take up to 6 months to see a response from this procedure, which is often done in combination with fillers, fat transfer and/or BOTOX® in New Jersey or Philadelphia.
Pelleve Skin Tightening
Pelleve is a new FDA-cleared skin tightening procedure to safely and effectively treat facial wrinkles without surgery. Using advanced radio-wave technology, the Pelleve system precisely heats the deep layers of the skin without damaging the epidermis, or top layer. The heat causes the collagen in the skin to contract and tighten. After treatment, the skin begins to produce new collagen, which improves skin firmness. The result is a naturally refreshed appearance.
Unlike other skin tightening systems, Pelleve doesn’t require anesthesia or skin cooling. Patients can expect to feel a deep warming sensation each time the hand piece touches the area being treated. Because the skin is not numb, the patient can describe the depth of the feeling to the doctor, which helps to ensure the best possible results. They can also return to home or work immediately. Side effects may include mild discomfort during the procedure within the treatment area. Mild swelling and redness may also occur and typically go away within 2 to 24 hours after treatment.
Pelleve can be used to treat the skin on the face, including the eye area. Many people start to see results after just one treatment, with lasting improvements in skin tightness and tone for up to six months. Because a full facial treatment takes only about an hour with no downtime, Pelleve fits easily into busy schedules.
